The City Rescue Mission of Lansing is a non-profit dedicated to meeting the physical and spiritual needs of men, women, and children in Michigan's capital area. In 2013, we celebrated over 100 years of service to our community and provided 52,834 nights of shelter, 104,184 meals, 1,630 hygiene (personal needs) kits, and 755 biblical counseling sessions. We provide several ministries to low income or homeless individuals and families, with are main areas of focus being food, shelter, and hope. The City Rescue Mission has a long history of feeding the hungry in our community. Since opening a soup kitchen during the depression, we have provided quality meals 365 days a year to those in need.
The City Rescue Mission is the largest emergency shelter in Michigan's capital area. We provide a safe haven to men, women, and children, with 58 beds for men and 100 for women and children. Our Life Transformation Program offers16 beds.
The City Rescue Mission is grateful for the opportunity to meet physical needs; however, our core "mission" has always been to provide the message of the Gospel and evidence of Christ's love to those who are often lost and lonely.
